1.Notification of new standard KC62133-2 is delayed by the end of this year, because of implementation for urgent KC law for ESS battery. KC62133:2019 will be mandatory from 6th September this year.

　　2.The requirements of KC62133:2019 are identical to that of KC62133:2015 for normal batteries except for battery for cell phone, tablet and notebook. KC62133:2015 was matched with IEC62133:2012 perfectly.

　　3.But the requirement of battery for cell phone, tablet and notebook are different from that of KC62133:2015. Three testing items are added to KC62133:2019 in comparison with KC62133:2015. Two testing items [Vibration, mechanical shock for battery pack], please refer to UN38.3 [Sixth revised edition], which was identical to the contents of KC62133:2019. One testing items [Over-current charging of cells.] please refer to UL1642 [Abnormal charging test], which was identical to the contents of KC62133:2019.

　　4.If the manufacturer can provide the test report UN38.3 for battery and the certificate & data sheet of UL1642, these can be substituted with the results of three testing items of KC62133:2019.

　　5.If the manufacturer cannot provide the test report UN38.3 for battery and the certificate & data sheet of UL1642, we will do testing.

　　6.For CB review project, please apply for Korean national difference. [KR_ND_IEC62133C] (IEC62133:2012, IEC website).

　　7.It is not mandatory to apply for the revision for updating the version of KC certificate (KC62133:2015) to KC certificate (KC62133:2019). But for the battery for cellphone, tablet and notebook, we need documents (UN38.3, UL1642) or do testing three items for updating.
